It’s been a fun week.
A ongoing lesson in pausing when we need to pause. My daughter started coming down with something Monday and it’s turned into a three day marathon of Mama Mia as our sickness keeps us home.
At any other point in my life I would be sitting here in a pit of despair as a previously typed email would send to you announcing in a chipper tone: Friday is the big day!
I scrapped that email. I have something entirely different to say to you, to the speakers, and to myself about the Mental Health and Motherhood Virtual Conference.
It is what it is.
Breathe. Laugh. Consider that our lives are worth far more than the work we achieve.
Now granted I truly do want this conference to go well Friday and we have been planning this for about six months. The speakers are amazing, the topics are heartfelt, and the passion for this mission of connecting moms with resources and community shines through the details.
But, I repeat, it is what it is.
Everything can be figured out, changed, and adapted. Isn’t that what motherhood is?
It’s why we automatically include recordings. Do you think there will be one person beside myself that sits through the conference the whole time? I’d be shocked if that happens.
Childcare must be planned! Children need things when they need them! Moms suddenly fall ill! A car breaks down or a baby won’t nap! Not to mention work!
This is the core of this conference. It is not about pushing ourselves to hustle until we become the perfect mother without stress.
It is about self compassion in all seasons and peace in knowing you’re not alone. That is why I’m so damn proud of what we’ve done here as a community.
I hope it is an investment you make in your mental health toolbox. A reminder that you care for your mental health and these women care so much they are coming together from Seattle, WA to the UK to share that love with you.
Buy your $25 ticket and recording access before Friday! We will have door prizes during the day if you can pop on to say hello.

I’m so disappointed I missed this. Do you think you might do something similar in 2025?
What does the VIP ticket get you? I don’t see it explained anywhere on the website.
