This piece left me feeling like you were just getting started. I wanted to keep reading about your relationship with the silence and nature and peace within itself. Thank you for sharing!
I love how our concept of adventure can change over time. Your line here resonated a lot! ......"This weekend adventure looked like silence, guilt-free napping, and standing in a field of daisies with my husband." Amen to that! LOL. :))
Your retreat sounds so dreamy! I am hoping to do a long weekend away to focus on writing with a good friend who is also working on a book. But I worry that with only a few days, we won’t end up getting much writing done!
I’m not sure I did get much writing done but it felt very worth the investment. I’d love to eventually be alone for a writing project. Perhaps focus on finding balance between writing and staying physically active. Cooking good meals also helped keep my hands busy without being overwhelmed. I don’t know about you but I can write for an hour and then feel like I’m unfocused or tired. Break it up your tasks to relieve that pressure.
And let me know how it goes. Sarah Shotts also did a writing retreat review.

Thank you. I will work on a follow up.

I’m so often pushing for productivity. I need to grow up my ideal rest to match my life!
