I want to tell more stories in the next year.
I’ve thought long and hard and then I’ve hardly thought at all, which is what my brain needed in order to give me this thought like a cat plops in your lap before you realize you’re cold.
Today my husband commented writing has always been a passion of mine, yes? Yes. It is simple and always has been for me to write. Motherhood Minute is a culmination of many things.
It is a portfolio of my consistency to come back to the same thing week after week. Even if it’s a different day or time, it’s still going.
It is full of quick reads to make the reader (you) able to digest a variety of things in six minutes or less. It’s a time limit for reading that often pairs with my ability to draft on my phone as well as the average amount of time I get to read alone in the car or when I was in the nursing chair.
Motherhood Minute has given me a chance to pour out my heart about vulnerable things motherhood helps me see clearer, like body dysmorphia, ptsd, mental health, and more.
It’s allowed me to go back to my journalism roots to talk about topics like work and healthcare and keep my eyes open for informative studies you may also like to read.
There is no word of the year for you or list of resolutions tonight. There is just a desire to tell more stories for you, for me, for the sake of storytelling.
If any of my previous stories have stuck with your gut this year, please let me know.
In the meantime, here are my personal favorites looking back. If you can’t access the archives, consider becoming a $5 per month supporter of my work or getting a free trial started!
May your new year start whenever you wish.
