Today I’m announcing a brand new addition to my Substack publication: the Motherhood Minute subscriber chat.
But first, a quick update!
I am archiving my posts before August 22 to be viewed by paid supporters only.
I know this may seem like an odd date but the truth is I’m really proud of my article Mental Health & Clothing and want to share it.
Back to the NEW stuff…This is chat feature will be a conversation space in the Substack app that I set up exclusively for my subscribers — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. Unless you have the app and choose to be notified, you’ll see short prompts, thoughts, and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion.
Initially, I was a bit against this feature but I realized that was entirely due to my own notification settings on my phone. Now that I’ve changed those, I’ve found the chats enjoyable with other writers.
To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app (messages are sent via the app, not email). Turn on push notifications if you don’t miss a chance to join conversation as it happens. Otherwise, carry on!
Speaking of notification overwhelm, it’s one of the reasons I might be writing on here more. I am currently taking a needed social media break and I invite you to find ways to lessen the noise in your own life.
Have a lovely day!

How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Chat is only on iOS for now, but chat is coming to the Android app soon.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
I’ve already started my first chat thread so come on over and say hello!
