One thing is for certain: motherhood is constantly changing.
There are seasons (in no particular order or time-frame) of waiting or trying to keep up, isolation or support, and confidence or doubt.
To reintroduce Motherhood Minute for new people around here is to reaffirm this fact. The subjects change depending on the season I’m in but I always aim for 6 minute or less reads. In the archives you’ll find topics mostly circulating around my life as a business owner as well as a mother and a creative.
That decision sounds so easy but if you read my ABOUT page you’ll see that I literally started this Substack feeling like I was fighting off a niche-monster; a beast that forced me to choose one thing for ultimate writing success. It was a myth that I try to happily strike down.

the person in charge on this newsletter, the founder, the OZ behind the curtain
30 years old
a mother to a (almost) two year old daughter, Eliza
a wife, sister, daughter, friend
a follower of Christ
in a unhealthy relationship with coffee
a business owner/partner for a detailing company
a Washington State, USA resident
a jack-of-all-trades at work (Canva graphics, writing operating manuals, running a store, doing sales calls, being a supporter of efforts, etc)
a writer
Oh yes, a writer.
“What do you write?” you may ask…Well everything, most of the time.
I’m usually writing fiction, and personal essays about life or researching topics for Motherhood Minute. I do not limit what I write. At work I write mostly operating manuals, sales copy, and plan what our company is going to expand into for future locations.
My hobbies outside of writing and negotiating how much coffee I can consume (it’s truly the love for the taste, not the jitters) include trying recipes and painting, if I have the time for it.
Some of my favorite pieces I have written on here are on topics of mental health, work, and vulnerability. I will link my absolute favorite below.
If you are able, consider being a financial backer of my work. If not, I’d love for you to stay around and share this newsletter with someone else who needs a minute.
