Join Motherhood Minute’s First Virtual Retreat
Here’s what we need to do for this event coming Fall 2024
There is something
recently said about my last project that really gripped me.Chanel shared her curiosity and started a dream project. It almost feels like an accident. But it never would have happened if she didn’t say “What if?”
Honestly, that outside observation has slammed itself into my temple and burrowed its way past the stubbornness of my issues with imposter syndrome.
What if I didn’t have faith in the community here? What if this community hadn’t been asked to help me make a seemingly big task for me happen?
The collection of women coming together to build community would have consisted of my voice alone. How dull.
From my perspective, the Nurturing Spaces podcast was a success.
I interviewed five women from the US to the UK on how we can build community in motherhood.
I only had one episode with major sound issues. 1/5 isn’t bad for a rookie.
The Motherhood Minute community and beyond were great at commenting on the guests’ posts to keep the conversation going.
Episodes were given audio and transcript versions which was a wonderful way to share everyone’s story in a more accessible format.
You can read more about the behind the scenes here.
Considering Motherhood Minute is now available for all and we have moved from this being a place that only belongs to me to a place that operates from the generosity of you, that leaves us with a new opportunity.
This fall we will have a virtual conference!
Every October I host a month of discussion around mental health as a way to heal from a traumatic experience ten years ago. For the past two years I have shared guest writers on the topic of mental health and motherhood. This year we will expand that conversation in a more interactive way.
How you can help:
There is a lot of work that needs to go behind this and I will be making more specific announcements as they come, including registration details, speakers, dates, etc.
Presently, I am looking to:
Find guest speakers who are interested in the theme of mental health in motherhood (specifics to come later but looking at a very well rounded topic list)
Discover who my interested attendees are and what they’d love to see
Financial support for the cost of technology needs and time
If you’re interested in collaborating on this project you can email me at hello@chanelriggle.com
I know this is vague but it’s a seed of trust that you will all help share this in search of speakers equipped to talk 30 minutes about mental health and motherhood on a volunteered basis. I’m looking for women of diverse life experiences, backgrounds, and abilities to help the motherhood community come together.
That’s the invite, my friends. That’s where we are headed in a digital community with the mission of reaching mothers to be seen, heard, and loved in the season they’re in.
Do you want to accept?
Speaker applications due April 15, 2024
Great idea Chanel!
Can’t decide if I’m complimented or sad that our interview is the 1/5 audio that was affected. It was a wonderful conversation too in a super series.
