The Mental Health & Motherhood Summit is a virtual event designed to connect mothers with mental health resources, offering a low-barrier approach that deeply values community and connection. It is 100% volunteer driven by mothers who care about building up awareness and support for other mothers.
What & Why
In 2021, I had birthed my daughter by an emergency c-section. Ever vigilant to the red flags of depression (thanks to a lifelong struggle and countless cultural warnings), I saw a therapist from 20 weeks pregnant up until 1 week postpartum. That final appointment ended within 5 minutes of logging on, a baby projectile vomiting, and me slamming the computer screen while sobbing, “I can’t do this!”
I tore off the soaking clothes on both of our bodies and swaddled us together, skin to skin, in my blankets. Somewhere between the sobs and tears, I contacted my husband to come home, and he found us there 30 minutes later on the couch, naked together in a cocoon.
My postpartum rage and anxiety shocked and shamed me. The isolation of depression was only soothed by a yearning for community but finding one felt like one more thing I had to figure out.
In 2023, the tidal wave nearly drowned me. I lost my business, became more depressed, and dealt with chronic pain/illness for 14 months.
The Mental Health & Motherhood 2024 event was a response to the questions I kept asking myself:
-How do mothers build/find community?
-How do we access mental health resources when insurance, finance, time, and educational barriers prevent ease of access?
-Why do I have to wait 3-6 months to get mental health care when I’m trying to prevent emergency mental health care right now?
What can we do about these questions, especially in a time such as this?
We can dare to bridge the mental health gap for mothers. Let’s go.
🎉 Meet The Summit Speakers
Here is your awaited update on who is going to be pouring compassion into you for the 2025 Mental Health & Motherhood Summit (and a few announcements). 🎉 Motherhood Minute focuses on mental health, motherhood, and all its complexities. Reading is always free.
Speaker Applications
If you are a mother, you can apply before May 1, 2025 to become a speaker for this summit. The topic ideas are endless but I really believe they should focus on the mother’s well-being and let them know they are not alone.
The application is located on the event website here:
https://www.mentalhealthmomevent.com/speaker-application
All selected speakers will submit their 30-60 minute talks pre-recorded, which is a huge benefit to you and all attendees, because it means speakers can engage with live chats during the event. The prerecorded aspect of this summit will also allow for many more diverse perspectives and stories! Here are some ideas I had for you:

Support Needed
Ok this email packs a punch but if you are ready to get involved as an advocate for maternal mental health, you’re in the right place.
This event is 100% volunteer and any money collected from merch or ticket sales barely covers the costs for the technology needed to run this event. A huge value for the Mental Health & Motherhood Summit is creating a low financial barrier for attendees.
+ Marketing Team
If you have experience with contacting outside sources about this event benefitting their audience, social media ads, Substack marketing, or any other way to spread the word, we need your help raising awareness!
+ Behind the scenes support
We are using the platform HeySummit to host our event. If you want to help build out email notifications, setup the website on the backend, and moderate the event while on the day of, I need your support!
+ Graphic Design
I fully support paying people for their art but I also have a $0 budget for this event for all people involved. If you are passionate about this mission and want to create merch designs, social media or website graphics for us to use, I would be honored to have you. Right now it’s just me and Canva, baby.
It should be noted that if you want to volunteer your time in these roles, I will absolutely write you a review or recommendation for your skill. If you have a business or newsletter, I will also add you as an event sponsor. Speakers get their own promotional packages!

Thank you all so much for your encouragement, support, and sharing this dream with me. I appreciate you.
Oh wow! I just filled out the form to volunteer. I have experience with HeySummit.
Hey! Interested in volunteering to speak. I am a teacher, public speaker, facilitator and have lots of experience in this:
I speak a lot about mothercentric business and creating creative and work lives that are centered around motherhood, living within seasons of life, and attuning to creativity and business in a more soulful way. Anti hustle girlboss culture because as mothers we need to avoid burnout. Something shifts within.
I have a handful of other subjects I’m competent in but let me know if you feel as though this could be helpful for your audience x
